Your Library Card

Who Can Get a Card
Both residents and non-residents may apply for a Forest Hill Public Library card.  Non-residents may receive a library card by obtaining a TexShare card from their home library.

How to Get Your Card

To obtain a library card, you must bring in a copy of your FOREST HILL WATER BILL along with a picture IDThe addresses on both documents must match.  If the water bill is not in your name, bring in a second piece of mail showing your name and that address.  If the address on the ID is not current, you must present a second piece of mail showing the current address.

Borrowing Limits
A total of 10 books may be checked out for two-week time periods.  Books may be renewed for another two weeks if there is no reserve on them.  A total of 5 DVDs per family may be checked out for a three-day time period.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items

Borrowed items may be renewed in person or by phone on or before the due date. If it is past the due date, you must come in to the library personally and re-check the item(s) out.  

Library Fines

Fines are charged for items that are not returned on or before the due date printed on the library receipt.  Fines for late books is fifty cents per day per book and one dollar per day per movie for late DVDs. 

Lost Library Cards

If you lost your library card, it is $5.00 to purchase a new one. Your first library card is free, but once you lose it, you have to buy a new one.
