Hi, I’m Ivon Herrera, a bilingual therapist and the founder of Fuego Therapy Counseling Services. I specialize in working with adults who carry the quiet, often invisible weight of migration—whether through physically crossing borders or growing up between cultures, translating languages, caregiving for family, and constantly navigating two worlds.

My path into this work began with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UT Tyler. Since becoming a licensed counselor in 2019, I’ve supported individuals through challenges like generational expectations, identity conflict, grief, trauma, and the complex emotional impact of immigration.

While my academic background provided a strong clinical foundation, it’s been the strength and stories of my clients that have shaped my practice and deepened my commitment to this healing work.

I offer a culturally responsive, compassionate space grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Our work together will center on what’s already working in your life, while also creating space to heal what still lingers—emotionally, mentally, and physically.

In addition to weekly therapy, I offer half-day and full-day intensives for clients ready for deeper healing in a shorter time, and I provide trauma-informed mental health evaluations for immigration cases, with deep respect for every personal story.
