π³οΈ GENERAL ELECTION & CANDIDATE INFORMATION
The Forest Hill Library District, operating as the Forest Hill Public Library, is a local government entity authorized under Local Government Code Chapter 326. It was established by majority vote in 1999 and is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees elected by voters within the City of Forest Hill.
π ELECTION OVERVIEW
- Election Month: May (held during the General Election)
- Term Length: Trustees serve two-year staggered terms
- Board Composition: Five members, elected at-large by city voters
- Administered by: Tarrant County Elections (in coordination with the City of Forest Hill)
π§Ύ TRUSTEE CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY
To qualify as a candidate for the Board of Trustees, you must:
β Be a citizen of the United States
β Be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term
β Not have been declared mentally incompetent by a final court judgment
β Not have been convicted of a felony, unless pardoned or rights restored
β Have resided in Texas for 12 months and in Forest Hill for 12 months prior to election day
β Be a registered voter in the City of Forest Hill

- Filing Deadlines & Election Calendar
Visit the Texas Secretary of State website for key dates and legal requirements. - Ballot Order Drawing
Held 15 minutes after the filing window closes at the library. A disinterested party conducts a random drawing to determine the ballot order. Candidates are encouraged to attend.
π― VOTING PROCESS
- Voter registration, early voting, and Election Day are coordinated through Tarrant County Elections.
- Voting takes place at designated polling locations within the City of Forest Hill.
