The Forest Hill Library District, operating as the Forest Hill Public Library, is a local government entity authorized under Local Government Code Chapter 326. It was established by majority vote in 1999 and is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees elected by voters within the City of Forest Hill.

To qualify as a candidate for the Board of Trustees, you must:

βœ” Not have been declared mentally incompetent by a final court judgment
βœ” Not have been convicted of a felony, unless pardoned or rights restored
βœ” Have resided in Texas for 12 months and in Forest Hill for 12 months prior to election day
βœ” Be a registered voter in the City of Forest Hill

  1. Candidate Packets
    Available in print at the library or electronically via our website. Includes all necessary forms.
  2. Submitting Your Application
    Submit candidate applications during the filing window:
    • In-person: During open library hours

  3. Filing Deadlines & Election Calendar
    Visit the Texas Secretary of State website for key dates and legal requirements.
  4. Ballot Order Drawing
    Held 15 minutes after the filing window closes at the library. A disinterested party conducts a random drawing to determine the ballot order. Candidates are encouraged to attend.

  • Voter registration, early voting, and Election Day are coordinated through Tarrant County Elections.
  • Voting takes place at designated polling locations within the City of Forest Hill.
