🌳 What is a Family Place Library™?

The Forest Hill Library District is proud to be part of the nationwide network of Family Place Libraries™—a model that supports families with young children, especially from birth to age 6, with a special focus on the critical years from 0 to 3.

💡 What Makes a Family Place Library Special?

Family Place Libraries™ are built on the belief that:

  • Parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teachers
  • Play is essential for early learning and healthy development
  • Libraries are vital community hubs that can connect families to the resources they need

🎨 What We Offer

Our programming is purposefully designed to support learning, bonding, and growth through:

  • Arts & crafts
  • Music and movement
  • Health & wellness activities
  • Parent-child workshops
  • Interactive playgroups

📅 For Ages:

  • Babies (0–2 years)
  • Preschoolers (2–6 years)
Parent or caregiver must be present at all sessions

🤝 Community Connections

Through our Family Place Playgroup, we connect families to local organizations and agencies offering services such as early childhood intervention, parenting support, healthcare, and more.
