Erick Ibarra – Movement & Music

Erick Ibarra is a librarian, musician, author, educator, and scholar whose career bridges performance, research, and community engagement. Trained under renowned guitar maestros, he has championed music as both a cultural and educational tool, inspiring learners of all ages.
He is the author of multiple works in both Spanish and English, ranging from specialized guitar texts to children’s introductions like Getting to Know a Guitar. His research contributions span historical musicology, pedagogy, and technology in music education, including innovative studies on AI-powered tools for guitar students. Ibarra has shared his expertise at national forums, including the Texas Library Association, and has co-authored bilingual literacy initiatives that promote inclusive education.
As Founder and Program Director of the Music4Libraries Project, he has pioneered music programs in public libraries across North Texas, expanding access to music and language education while nurturing cultural connections.
