DECEMBER 2025: Trustee Raquel McFadden

🌿 Dedicated to Service

As the Forest Hill Library District continues to grow and evolve, Board Trustee Raquel McFadden has been an invaluable part of guiding the library’s mission. Now in her fourth year of service, she brings compassion, insight, and steadfast leadership to the Board.

With more than 30 years of experience as a Social Worker, Ms. McFadden has devoted her life to supporting children, strengthening families, and advocating for those in need. Her professional background gives her a deep understanding of the community the library serves — and her decisions as Trustee always reflect that care.

📚 Strengthening the Library’s Mission

Ms. McFadden believes strongly in the library as a place of connection, learning, and opportunity. She works closely with Library Director Michael Hardrick and his team, offering support, perspective, and leadership as they expand programs, develop new initiatives, and meet the evolving needs of Forest Hill residents.

Her collaborative spirit helps ensure that the library continues to operate with excellence, compassion, and innovation — values deeply rooted in the vision first set by Mrs. Jerline M. Harvey, the library’s founder.

🏛️ Championing the Library Expansion

One of Ms. McFadden’s highest priorities is her full support of the upcoming library expansion project. She recognizes that the future of the Forest Hill Library must include more space for youth engagement, technology access, educational programs, community gatherings, and family-centered activities.

Her advocacy is driven by her belief that the library is not just a building, but a vital resource and a central heartbeat of the city.

Outside of her role as Trustee, Ms. McFadden is a passionate reader who enjoys the outdoors and treasures time spent with her family. Her guiding motto —
