Roshunda Johnson – Fitness Professional, Healing Mover, and Empowerment Coach

Some stories are born from comfort — Roshunda Johnson’s story was born from courage.

Her journey toward healing began in one of the most challenging seasons of her life: recovering from spinal fusion surgery and relearning how to walk. What could have been a moment of defeat instead became a defining turning point. Refusing to let pain determine her path, Roshunda transformed her struggle into purpose, igniting a passion to help others move, heal, and rediscover the strength within themselves.

As she slowly regained mobility, Roshunda made a life-changing promise: she would never take movement for granted again. Each small step, each moment of progress, filled her with gratitude — and in that space of rebuilding, she discovered something unexpected: her love for dance.

Movement to music felt liberating. Dance reawakened her joy, connected her back to her body, and began to shape a new mission — one centered on empowerment, celebration, and intentional movement. What started as a personal recovery practice blossomed into a calling to help others find the same freedom.

Eager to serve her community with excellence, Roshunda committed herself to learning everything she could about the human body, functional movement, and accessible fitness. She earned a wide range of certifications, including four dance formats — MixxedFit, Commit, and more — as well as specialized training in Cycling, Foam Rolling, Les Mills Tone, Kettlebell, Resistance Bands, and Build. Each certification represents a new layer of her expertise and an expanded ability to support people with diverse needs and goals.

Her dedication to safety and community care led her to become a Certified CPR Instructor, teaching life-saving skills with the same passion and heart she brings to her classes. Now, as she works toward becoming a Certified Pilates Instructor, Roshunda continues to deepen her understanding of strength, alignment, and mindful movement — honoring the lessons that shaped her own healing journey.

To Roshunda, movement is not just exercise — it is medicine for the soul. Her teaching philosophy blends compassion, education, and empowerment, meeting people exactly where they are and guiding them forward with encouragement and intention. She reminds every person she encounters that resilience lives inside them; that after life’s toughest setbacks, the body — and spirit — can rise again.

Her journey is a testament to what is possible when courage meets purpose. Roshunda shows that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they believe in their own potential…and keep moving forward one small step at a time.

Away from the studio, Roshunda finds joy in the simple pleasures that ground her — experimenting in the kitchen, indulging in a little retail therapy, exploring new travel destinations, and cherishing time with her grandchildren, who remain a bright source of inspiration in her life.
