Scherron Richard is a community leader, strategic connector, and lifelong advocate whose journey highlights the transformative power of literacy, education, and perseverance.

Raised in rural Arkansas and growing up in poverty, Scherron discovered early that education—and a love of reading—was her pathway to opportunity. Books expanded her world, inspired possibility, and shaped her belief that access to knowledge can change lives.

After marrying and becoming a mother, Scherron returned to college, balancing family, work, and school to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, demonstrating that learning is possible at any stage of life.

She currently serves as Field Director for the Office of Congressman Marc Veasey, working at the intersection of education, community engagement, and public service. Known for building strong partnerships, she connects communities to resources and amplifies local voices.

Scherron is also the founder of Legacy Circle, an organization dedicated to supporting women through service, self-care, and community. She serves on multiple civic and advisory boards and is a passionate advocate for women and children.

She holds a Bachelor of Human Resource Development from the University of Arkansas and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University. Scherron lives with her husband, Mitchell, and their two children, Jaydon and McKinley.

Her journey is a testament to how literacy, determination, and access to education can turn ordinary beginnings into extraordinary purpose.
