A joyful moment in a grassy area with a woman, a man, and a child sharing smiles and playful interactions.

My wife and I moved to Forest Hill just about a month before our son and only child, William, was born in 2023. I'm just going to be blunt here - while we like our neighborhood, our neighbors, and our home, we didn't find much else to like about Forest Hill. There just isn't much of anything here, to speak of. I don't mean to speak ill of the city -it's home, and I've lived in far, far worse places. But, well, I doubt I'm saying anything here that many folks who read this will disagree with.

But, when William was around one, we discovered the Forest Hill Library. It has been a shining star for us ever since. We started off attending story time on Saturdays and even though William isn't really the "sit still and listen to a story" type... more the "bounce off the walls and run around exploring every corner" type... it was an instant hit with him, and with my wife and I. We've made it a Saturday ritual now, and I wish I could show you all a picture of how William's face lights up when we ask him "are you ready to go to the library?" "LIBRARY!!!"

But beyond that, I can't express enough how kind, considerate, and helpful the entire staff have been since the first time we walked in the door. Everyone knows William and greets him by name, which makes all three of us feel special. It's truly an exceptional group of people who clearly value their service to our community.
I can't tell you how excited my wife and I are for the upcoming expansion.

From all I've seen and heard it's going to transform from an already great place into something truly amazing, and when I say we're here for it, I mean we are literally here for it. If you live in this area and haven't made it a habit to drop in, trust me when I say you're missing out on one of the best parts of our city, if not the very best.
